The Muladhara Chakra, or Root Chakra, is the foundation of the entire chakra system. Located at the very base of the spine (the perineum), it acts as your "root system," tethering your physical body to the energy of the Earth.
Its name translates to "Root Support" (Mula = Root, Adhara = Support). When this chakra is activated, you move out of "survival mode" and into a state of steadfastness and security •Overactive: Greed, paranoia, stubbornness, or an obsession with material security and "hoarding" resources.
•Underactive: Feeling "spacey" or disconnected, chronic anxiety, lack of focus, and feeling like a "nomad" with no home or foundation.
